See The 2020 Rolex New Releases In The Wild On These 7 Instagram Accounts
It’s been just about 30 days since Rolex released the new 2020 line of watches, which included all new Submariners, a vibrant OP line, a brand new Sky-Dweller on Oysterflex, and some less popular, but still stunning Datejusts. But just because they were “released” doesn’t mean you can actually SEE one, feel one, or get one on your wrist. Shipments from Switzerland have been slow as molasses and the desire of many collectors (and ADs) to get their hands on one is increasing exponentially each day that goes by.

Despite the pandemic, many people chose to line up outside their AD on September 1st just hoping to get their name on the waiting list for one of these new releases. Calls were made to ADs weeks before the new releases after some speculation/predictions came out. We personally have our names on the waiting list with our AD for a Tiffany blue 41mm OP and a new Sub, but even our AD doesn’t have these watches from Rolex yet, so the wait will continue.
There have been some very lucky guys and gals who have been able to (somehow) already complete their purchase of these watches and of course, they love to show off the goods on the gram. To us in the watch world, these are the real VIP celebrities! Seeing REAL pictures is so much better than seeing stock Rolex images and professional promotional photographs. You can better grasp the exact coloring, see how the watch looks in different lighting, and get a better feel for the size and shape.
Pro-tip: if you think someone might be showing off a new Rolex watch, look carefully at the dial. If it is set at 10:10, 31 seconds (like shown above) it’s likely not their personal watch, but rather a small batch of Rolexes certain people were allowed to take pictures with for PR purposes, or possibly pics from a Rolex AD. These pics may or may not be filtered, or use professional lighting, which doesn’t allow you to see the watch as it really is. If you see the watch on their wrist out in the wild, with the time and date set to something other than 10:10, 31, then you generally know they’re legit.
So where can you go to see some of the hottest new Rolex releases on the wrist and in the wild? We will spotlight a few instagram handles below! Be sure to visit their accounts to see these watches on the wrist!
1. @soalfb - Rocking the New Kermit
As far as new releases go, our friend @soalfb has himself the new kermit (or Starbucks), or more technically the 126610LV and it looks phenomenal on his wrist. He is also lucky enough to own an OP41 in turquoise or “Tiffany blue” as many people call it. This watch is reference 124300 and is part of Rolex’s new brightly colored Oyster Perpetual line. Followers of @soalfb can expect great content, friendly interaction, and some awesome unboxings--like his brand new Meteorite Dial Rolex Pepsi that he just unboxed this week. Congrats, friend!
2. @ilikerolexes - black sub, entire OP 41 line, and New Kermit
@iloverolexes is a must-follow if you are a watch lover. Not only is he very kind and very supportive of other watch instagram accounts, he has a phenomenal collection. Of the new releases you can see the new black submariner, next to the previous model for comparison. In the coming days, @iloverolexes is planning to get the entire OP41 line, a green-dialed kermit/starbucks, and possibly a new Submariner in white gold. We will have to stay tuned!
3. @Vekiss_2 -OP 36 in pink, green, and champagne (36mm)
@vekiss_2 has an amazing watch collection, and she also happens to be a very avid Everest Band lover and wearer. We truly appreciate her support. This lucky beauty already has her hands on a few OPs--some in 36mm and some appear to be in 34mm. From her account we can see her show off the pink, green, and champagne dial Oyster Perpetual. The champagne dial is destined to become a classic and it’s one we haven’t seen much of yet out in the wild.
4. @horoloupe - OP41 Blue
@horoloupe was one of the first accounts where I was able to see the OP41 in the “Tiffany blue” color. I found this account because someone else reposted his pictures in their stories. Of course I began following immediately and haven’t been disappointed! In addition to this new release he also has a ton of incredible watches from Audemars Piguet, Patek Phillippe and more. Definitely worth a follow.
5. @Watchgirloffduty - Kermit and OPs (blue, coral, yellow)
@watchgirloffduty is an ex New Yorker who now lives in Hong Kong. On her account, you’ll be able to see all variations of Rolex green dials (old Kermit, Hulk, and new Starbucks), and collection of the new 2020 Oyster Perpetuals in turquoise blue, coral red, and yellow. To better understand available size and color combinations, feel free to access this handy dandy chart. On her account you can find great images of watches, like a gorgeous rainbow Daytona, some swoon-worthy travel-inspired shots, and lots of bikinis and cocktails. She’s truly living her best life. You go, girl!
6. @frm.watchleo - Kermit and green OP41
@frm.watchleo loves to put a little whimsy in his photos as you can see above when he chose to pair his Rolex new releases with some toy dinosaurs. He also has a great collection of Rolex, Patek, and even a Richard Mille or two to feast your eyes on! A quick glance at this account also showcases his love for beautifully plated food (specifically sushi), luxury cars, and colorful backdrops.
7. @HK2233www - two-tone sub, Yellow OP, and many more!
@hk2233www showcases a wide variety of watches including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Longines, Cartier, Vasheron Constantin, and more! Of the Rolex new releases you can see a variety of the Oyster Perpetuals (yellow, green, and turquoise) plus two of the new Submariner releases--the new Kermit (Starbucks), and the two-tone yellow gold and steel Submariner with black dial (the 126613LN).
8. BONUS: @mo_watches and @ahsan_khan_watches. Guys with great AD connections and relationships.
Photos: @mo_watches
Images: @ahsan_khan_watches
Both of these guys take great hands-on photos from their ADs (several new releases). While they aren’t “in the wild and on the wrist” they both have strong enough relationships with their ADs to be able to try on the watches and take great photos for all of us to enjoy! As you’ll see most of their watch images are set to 10-10-31 because they were taken (with permission of course) at a Rolex authorized dealer. They are both avid watch collectors who take great photos! Their accounts are definitely worth following!
The watch world is so fun, and instagram is a great way to connect! Give these accounts a follow to live vicariously through their awesomeness, see a bunch of great timepieces, make a new friend, and maybe even gain better insight on which Rolex you should be asking your AD for soon. Also, a few of these accounts are also proud owners of Everest Bands, which we love to see. Customize your watch or pick up some high-end watch accessories here.
While you’re on insta, feel free to follow @everestjournal as well! We post new content daily and love interacting with other accounts. We hope you enjoy these new-found accounts as much as we do!
