Current Watch Ambassadors Who Have Loyalty With Their Brands
GEORGE CLOONEY
George Clooney is a household name here in the United States. With 67 total wins between the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and numerous others, he’s not a man that goes unrecognized by many. In 2007, Omega enlisted Clooney as their new brand ambassador. The partnership didn’t come out of nowhere though. Clooney is a longtime Omega fan. Actually, his uncle gifted him an Omega in 1969, and Clooney has stated that “wearing the same watch as the astronauts of Apollo 11 fill me with pride”. Since coming on board, George has always made it a priority to show up for brand events, including the Anniversaries of Apollo missions and becoming friends with Astronauts like Buzz Aldrin.
George is no doubt a watch guy. He’s also a tequila fan and collaborated with Omega and his own tequila brand, Casamigos, a few years ago on a limited edition Seamaster Planet Ocean, which in our opinion was on fire! NICOLE KIDMAN
While we’re talking about Omega, one of their longest partnerships so far has been with another leading Hollywood star, Nicole Kidman. For the last 15 years, Kidman has been a faithful ambassador of Omega. Like George Clooney, Kidman is often involved with the launch of pieces, special events and has a tight relationship with Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann. Kidman’s taste tends to lean towards the feminine and petite stylings and she can be found wearing vintage Omega’s at many Hollywood events. Always stylishly on point with her amazing wardrobes.
When asked what she likes about wearing a watch Kidman responded “I think there’s an elegance and a sophistication to wearing watches.” Will we continue to see Nicole Kidman as an ambassador for Omega? TIGER WOODS
Rolex is known for supporting some of the best athletes in fields like yachting, motor sports, tennis and golf. Having ambassadors like Arnold Palmer on the list leaves big shoes to fill. Tiger Woods wasn’t shy to take that role when Rolex asked him on as brand ambassador in 2011. If you thought Tiger had been an ambassador for them longer, you’re not wrong. He once was an ambassador for Rolex’s sister brand Tudor back in 1997. In fact, there he had a Prince Chronograph Limited Edition made for him! Read our thoughts on it here.
Rolex signed Woods just a few years since all of his, er, drama. As the brand was adamant that Tiger still had a long career ahead of him. 9 years doesn’t seem like a lot but in an age where celebrities and athletes are switching brands any chance they get, this is quite notable. Tiger’s Rolex of choice is the Deepsea. When he’s not on the green, he loves to hang out at the ocean and is said to be an avid diver. These days you really just see him wearing the Deepsea more than anything else, but can we blame him?
KATE WINSLET
Longines is a brand we usually don’t hear a lot of buzz from. The brand has been around since the early 1800s and has produced some amazing beautiful watches that are readily available to the masses. In 2010, Longines brought on Kate Winslet as their new ambassador and she maintains that role today. The Oscar winning actress always exudes elegance which fits in nicely with Longines history and presence. Her partnership with Longines doesn’t stop at watches though. The brand is deeply involved in her charitable organization, The Golden Hat Foundation which raises public awareness about individuals living with autism. Both Winslet and Longines have worked together to produce pieces for this charity. Perhaps this is why she has stayed with the brand so long. No doubt, Kate has a long career of acting ahead of her so perhaps we’ll see this partnership for years to come!
