4 Luxury Items We’re Buying To Match Our New Navy Blue Tudor Black Bay 58
Just like everyone else, it was love at first sight for us when we saw the new navy blue colorway of the Black Bay 58. A Tudor Black Bay without a black dial? We were skeptical at first, but the first product photographs convinced us otherwise. The Black Bay 58 features an anodized aluminum blue bezel and blue dial sharply set off by bright pearl indices and markers. We’re not entirely sure what inspired the deep blue and white color choices of this timepiece but it seems inspired by nature and by iconic Tudor models of the past. It brings to mind snow-capped slate mountain ranges or white-capped waves on a dark Atlantic sea. Either way, we’re entranced. Once you’ve added this new gem to your collection, you’ll want to match everything else to your new acquisition.
This Sleek Zegna Suit
Superfine 15 micron wool is dyed midnight blue and woven into this soft, strong suit with clean lines that lies perfectly. The flat front trouser style feels young and modern, while the notch lapels and slant pockets on the drop 7 jacket are pure traditional styling. Place a Tudor BB58 under the cuff and you’ve just created the complete package. Well done, sir.
These Classic Nike Kicks
Since the navy Black Bay 58 has a few coordinating bracelet styles, you’ve got to be ready to transition from work to play with it. On Saturday mornings, match your new acquisition to these dark blue Air Force 1s for subtle coordination that moves effortlessly into the weekend. This buttery blue leather tops a blindingly white sole that just happens to match the snowflake hands on the Black Bay. Coincidence? Yeah, probably, but we’ll take advantage of it.
Maybe it’s the deep ocean blue dial, but this watch makes us want to get some serious sand and surf. For international travel to warmer climes, slip your passport into this navy leather cover. Crocodilian leather is paired with a cowhide-leather trim and lining for elegance and strength. With four internal pockets for cards in addition to the passport pocket, you’ll have all the essentials at the ready. Bon Voyage!
This Montblanc Pen
We’re not sure what we like more about this pen: the nod to French children’s literature, the tiny fox engraved on the 14k nib, or the fact that it perfectly matches the new BB58. Writing pulls back a cuff just enough to show off your new timepiece, so the least you can do is pair it with a writing instrument that will complement it. Sure, smartwatches and styluses are convenient, but they can’t match fountain pens and divers for pure visual impact.
And When You’re Ready To Change Things Up...
Tired of the deep blue of a starless midnight sky? Not likely. But just in case you want to switch up the look of your blue Black Bay 58, you can always pair it with a contrasting NATO strap. After all, the only thing that looks better than blue-on-blue is blue with an unexpected color combination.
