Top 3 Rolex Watches Of 2024

Top 3 Rolex Watches Of 2024

Rolex released some simple but fantastic offerings in 2024. With 2025 around the corner, now is the perfect time to recap our favorite releases from Rolex in 2024! We'll start with Rolex’s sport collection, move on to their dressier offerings, then wrap it all up with a noteworthy release from Tudor (because why not?). Let’s start with the clean and simple GMT-Master II, released this spring: the reference 126710GRNR.

Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR

Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR

Last year, Rolex introduced a bi-metal, bi-color GMT Master II that may have been the hottest watch of 2023. The watch featured a half-black, half-grey ceramic bezel insert paired with a yellow gold bezel, steel case, and bracelet. This design became an instant classic, and Rolex clearly got the message. For 2024, they presented a full-steel version with the same bi-color ceramic grey and black bezel. Initially, watch enthusiasts considered this new release "simple." However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. After seeing this beauty in person, I can confidently say that it’s perfect. While there’s often a desire for more color and flash in the watch world, classics endure because of their simplicity and elegance. This GMT-Master II is precisely that: classic, refined, and timeless.

Rolex Deepsea 136668LB (Yellow Gold and Blue)

Rolex Gold Deepsea

Next up is the bold Rolex Deepsea in full gold. This 44mm Rolex defied expectations. Unlike the subtle GMT Master II, this piece screams, “Look at me!” With the retirement of the Rolex Yacht-Master II, Rolex needed an ultra-flashy, large, all-gold watch to fill the void. Enter the Rolex Deepsea 13668LB. This watch has a striking full-blue ceramic bezel and an inner Ring Lock rehaut that perfectly complements the blue lacquer dial. Keep in mind, though, this watch is hefty—both in weight and in price, carrying a $54,200 tag. If you’re seeking a Rolex that makes a statement, look no further.

Rolex 1908 Platinum Guilloche

Finally, Rolex updated their young 1908 with a platinum case and ice blue guilloche dial. Unlike the white and black dials of the original release, this metallic "rice-grain" dial is loud and proud. Paired with a lustrous 950 platinum case, this isn't a watch you're going to miss. Still, the platinum 1908 maintains the caliber 7140 and sapphire caseback found on the original models.

Honorable Mention: Tudor Black Bay Chrono Blue

Tudor 1908 Guilloche Ice Blue Platinum

To round out Rolex’s 2024 offerings, I'd like to highlight the Tudor Black Bay Chrono Blue Boutique Edition. Despite its status as a 7-year-old watch, this Tudor release garnered significant attention upon its release. The design team at Tudor nailed it with this crisp blue aluminum bezel, sunburst blue dial, and contrasting silver subdials. Unlike past versions of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono ('Pink' excluded), the Chrono Blue features a five-link bracelet with T-Fit adjustment. It’s incredibly comfortable and, for me, significantly enhances wearability and comfort compared to the three-link version. After spending time with this watch in person, I can confidently say it’s my favorite Tudor to date. The only downside is its exclusivity; since it’s only available at Tudor Boutiques, you’re unlikely to see many in the wild, as there are only a few boutiques worldwide.
