Rolex is Hiring: Why This is Great News
As reported by Coronet in late July, Rolex posted five job listings in Fribourg: the canton (state) where they’re building a $1 billion production facility. That site (in Bulle) won’t open until 2029. In the meantime, Rolex is opening two temporary production sites: slated to operate by late 2024 and early 2025, respectively. Those temporary-site employees (250-300) will transfer to the Bulle facility once complete, per Hodinkee. So, why should you care about these job listings?
Well, if you’re patiently awaiting “the call” from your authorized dealer, these job listings should come as great news. Rolex’s fast-moving efforts to increase production are evident. In addition to these temporary production sites going up, Rolex’s Bienne facility expansion – which stands to increase movement production by 15% to 20% – looks to be almost complete, per Coronet.

This news comes at a time where pre-owned Rolex prices are at their lowest since all-time highs in 2022. Supply is increasing and demand is correcting as flippers and resellers, who entered the space during the pandemic, fall away from their increasingly-unprofitable new business venture.
In short, Rolex buyers might not have to wait until 2029 to see the effects of increased production.
