Breaking Down Tudor's New Black Bay Chrono 'Flamingo Blue'
Tudor just dropped another colorful addition to its Black Bay Chrono lineup: the ‘Flamingo Blue.’ It’s the third surprise release in the series, following last year’s Chrono Pink and Chrono Blue (non-Flamingo). A few days ago, we spotted the turquoise Tudor on ambassadors Jay Chou and David Beckham, and today, it’s officially in the catalog—but it might be hard to get your hands on.
This surprise release also introduces Tudor’s new “Daring Watches” collection, which is marked by the tagline “Exclusive Watches and Limited Editions.” In addition to the Flamingo Blue, the collection includes last year’s Chrono Pink and Black Bay Ceramic Blue. While the Flamingo Blue isn’t a numbered limited edition, its inclusion in this collection suggests it won’t be widely available.
A Nod to Miami, But No Inter Miami
The Flamingo Blue arrives with clear ties to Miami, but it stops short of an official collaboration with Inter Miami, the soccer team co-owned by Tudor ambassador David Beckham. That said, Beckham is featured in the watch’s promotional materials (living his best Miami life) and the Inter Miami connection is unmistakable.
Meanwhile, the Flamingo Blue shares Miami Vice vibes with last year’s Chrono Pink, whose product page just received a South Beach makeover. The watches now exist as something of a duo: one for Crockett, one for Tubbs.
When the Flamingo Blue debuted, it sparked rumors that the Chrono Pink had been discontinued after it briefly disappeared from Tudor’s website. As we know, those rumors turned out to be false.
A Fresh Take on the Black Bay Chrono

Like its Pink and Blue predecessors, and many other recent releases from Tudor, the Flamingo Blue features Tudor’s five-link bracelet with a micro-adjustable T-Fit clasp. First introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023, this bracelet looks great on the Black Bay Chrono, and the T-Fit clasp makes it ideal for daily wear.
The Flamingo Blue retains the same technical foundation as the other Black Bay Chronos, including the MT5813 movement—a vertical clutch, column wheel chronograph based on Breitling’s B01 architecture. It’s COSC-certified, automatic, and offers 70 hours of power reserve.
Extending the Chrono’s Lifespan

Tudor released the Black Bay Chrono in 2017, followed it with a two-tone version (and the hyper-limited PVD Chrono Dark) in 2019, slimmed it down slightly in 2021, and offered new dial colors paired with the five-link bracelet in 2024/2025. Aside from these cosmetic tweaks and special editions, the Black Bay Chrono has stayed the same over the past seven years. This is no critique, mind you. Even after nearly eight years, it still holds its own as a versatile, high-performance Swiss chronograph.
These colorful updates bring fresh energy to the lineup, with the added bonus of a T-Fit clasp (and five-link if that’s your jam).
Final Thoughts
The Black Bay Chrono ‘Flamingo Blue’ won’t be for everyone, but it doesn’t need to be—it turns out Tudor makes a lot of different watches. For turquoise lovers, Chrono collectors, or any Miami sports fan, this is probably the Tudor to buy.
